The film stars Leeko McKinney and Nate Boreiko as two long time friends attempting to unravel a horrifying mystery two decades old. The film reunites the buddy duo from the film Sick and the Dead and marks the first movie produced by Lost Story Studio under the STF umbrella. The film features creature designs by artist Chris Moreno and effects by End is Nigh studio.

It was then the dogs began to bark.
Sean quickly headed for the door, imagining the boys had seen a rogue squirrel or some brave fox. He hoped it wasn’t some unlicensed campers out this far without a permit. As sole Park Service Forest Ranger for two thousand square miles of woodland here in Garywayne, Virginia he was on call 24/7. In the past two years on the job he’d rarely had any real emergencies, but the cell phone or ham radio sometimes brought him back out in search of poachers or the occasional lost camper. Sean had stumbled upon kids screwing around in the woods without permission before but hoped that was not the case tonight. The dogs were friendly, but fiercely protective and out here, this time of night, he did not mind. The cool, March breeze touched his face as he ventured out onto the stoop. The dogs were nowhere to be seen. More ominous, they had ceased barking.
“JASPER, BLU!” he called out, channeling his best John Wayne and dropping his voice to its maximum bass. “WHATCHA GOT, BOYS?”
The wind picked up and his ears strained, but only the dead leaves stirred.
“JASPER! BLU!” he tried again. “COME ON!”
This time, he heard something as his vision sharpened and his pupils adjusted to the darkness. There. Right at the tree line. Sean tensed, wondering if he should have gotten the gun from the mantle. Then the dogs were there, panting and wagging, tromping out of the foliage.
“Fuck,” he hissed, slightly pissed at his own fear, but grateful to see the boys. “Jasper, Blu, come on!” he yelled, more playful this round.
“jasper, blu, come on,” whispered a voice from deep in the woods.

Sean froze. He questioned what he had heard. He might not have believed it at all if not for the dogs. They had stopped and turned around, confused.

In a much softer but terse voice, Sean called, “Come ‘ere, boys…its okay.”

Before they could react, the voice rasped, “come on boys, its okay.”

It put every hair on Sean’s body at end. It was a female voice, high in tone. But there was something beneath it. A low harmony, almost. Something old…wet.

This Super Tough Film was a sold out event in Chapel Hill, NC where it premiered at the Carolina Theater and out sold Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull on its opening night. It was picked up for distribution by Brain Damage Pictures the same year it was completed and is available at Best Buy, Netflix, Borders and online everywhere DVDs are sold.

For over a decade Magic Twanger Productions put out low budget shorts and commercials that played around the country. From the Wizard World Con award winning superhero parody POWER KID to the acclaimed indie black and white zombie short and official selection of the Last Call Film Fest FAMILY, Magic Twanger Productions pushed the envelope of micro budget filmmaking.

When Andy Shanie of Last Call Film Fest proposed a full length film that he would produce based on the strength of FAMILY, the group jumped at the opportunity. The low budget zombie movie Sick and the Dead was the result. This year the group has expanded its crew and scope and has relaunched the company under the SUPER TOUGH FILMS brand.

RODNEY CECIL: PSYCHO HERO is a hardy combo of old school 80’s style action and the over-the-top gore effects that the group is known for. The story centers around a botched hit on a fellow small time drug runner, the titular Rodney Cecil. With the help of a Bruja witch Rodney sets out to take revenge on those who have tried to kill him. Armed with a new bag of tricks including corrosive vomit and near invulnerability Rodney’s bloody trail of death leads him through a revenge filled maze of freakish characters and gut-soaked battles. Featuring gore effects from the Gorehouse, make up by horror goddesses Holly Mckinney & Tenille Fox, music by Hammer of Satan this one is sure to please fans of the great hey-day of good old fashioned killer VHS flicks.You can’t afford to miss this one, folks ’cause in RODNEY CECIL, revenge is a plate best served piping hot.

THANKFUL is Super Tough Films co-founders Brockton McKinney’s and Bo Fader’s second full length zombie film set to begin filming in 2010.
